Tokens are digital units that represent a value. Within BonusBank, these values are aligned with your corporate KPIs, mission and vision. The values that Tokens represent can be anything, like for example:

Types of Token
Let’s begin with a question: what are they used for? Why do we need them? The answer to these questions leads us to two main types of Tokens:
Financial Tokens
A Financial Token represent a (monetary or other) reward, but is a conditional Token; that is, it depends on a specific event: completion of a goal, a date, an end of a period, closure of a financing round… Their value only becomes real and redeemable after this event.
Soft Tokens
Soft skills are represented by Soft Tokens. They measure the talent and capabilities of teams and individuals, as well as, for example, social recognition.
This type of Token has a direct impact on a Performance Account as it defines a person’s performance profile and evolution.
Financial Tokens
The conditionality enables you to give rewards at any moment in time without immediate financial (i.e.: payroll) consequences because the Token has no value until its condition is realized.
This type of Token can be linked to prizes, bonuses, shares of a company or donations.
Soft Tokens
They have either a social value facilitating the interaction between colleagues, or they help to map individual and team performance when each Token represents a specific skill.

Types of Token

Token Use
Now that we know how they are used, let’s discover how they are created and how they start to flow.


01. Creating Tokens
There are two ways to get tokens. Get started with standard tokens or create your own personalized ones:

Standard Tokens

The Tokens are the way to drive change and they need to flow! With instant feedback, real-time recognition and continuous rewards you make change happen. Transfers can be done directly by the software tools you are using or come from batches that managers prepare or be done manually using the app.

Manual Transfers (App / Web)
- ONE BY ONE. The APP can be used to give tokens to one or more persons.
- BATCH. If you have a lot of transfers, you can do that much faster preparing them online using our easy web form.

Automatic Transfers
- PDX. Your management and productivity software can trigger transfers, for example when someone finishes a task on time.
- API. If you use Slack or any other team communication software, our API enables both transfers and the receipt of BonusBank notifications directly in this familiar environment.
